On November 8, 2016, Fulton County voters, including residents of East Point, approved the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (T-SPLOST), a referendum to fund transportation improvements within the participating cities.
The collection of the 0.75 percent (3/4 of a cent) sales tax began in April 2017 to fund the T-SPLOST transportation projects. An estimate $34.9 million (Tier 1 & 2) over five years is expected to be raised for use in East Point for transportation improvements.
